So today I finally decided to try and make my own cookie cereal! :D
I started with a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe and modified it so that I ended up with smaller, dryer cookies. It's awesome! The best part is that when you put the little cookies in milk, they soak it up and expand and look and taste like real cookies! Did I mention that it's awesome?!
Here is my recipe:
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
7-8 oz chocolate chips
1. Heat oven to 375.
2. Beat butter, sugars, and vanilla in bowl. Add egg, beat well.
3. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well. (If slightly too dry, add a little more butter.)
4. Chop up chocolate chips so they are little pieces. Add to dough.
5. Form dough into small balls about the size of a penny.
6. Arrange on a cookie sheet; bake for 3-5 minutes. Watch closely so they don't burn!
7. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on a cooling rack.
8. The little cookies should be fairly dry and crunchy. It's cereal after all!
9. Store in closed container and eat with milk! Yay!
Here are the awesome pictures! So much better than the original cereal!
